A Study on Inflammation-Inducing and Proliferation-Stimulating Ability in the Extract of Normal and Necrotic Tissue.

Abstract
Since it has been demonstrated that, as reported in previous paper, when extracts of normal and necrotic tissue are injected to the living body, a local inflammatory reaction is initially noted at the injected area, giving way in due time to proliferative repair process, the author again made a further attempt to study on the nature ;of Active Substances in those extracts. Normal and necrotic tissue extracts were prepared in the same manner as in the previous experiment, but this time they were analyzed by some chemical procedures and were fractionated by paper electrophoresis in order to isolated active substances from them. The different substances-thus obtained were injected intracutaneously into the abdomen of normal rabbits, and in the course of 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th, 6 th, 8 th and 10 th. day after injection microscopic examination of. these lesions was made with following results ;
1) Active substances which tend to cause inflammation and also to hasten proliferation for repair process in the extract of normal and necrotic tissue turned out to be protein in nature. Inflammation inducing substances were reaffirmed to belong to g-globulin while proliferation stimulating substances were fractionated to 7--globulin on paper electrophoresis.
2) It is quite reasonable to think that chemically, those active substances are not pure but composed of complex heterogenous elements.
3) It may be wrong to reason that Inflammation-Inducing and Proliferation Stimulating Substances as demonstrated in the extract of normal and Necrotic tissue would be identical in every respect.
4) Just as it was the case with inflammation inducing ability, proliferative ability of necrotic tissue extract was more prominent in intensity than that of normal tissue extract.
5) Active substances contributing to acceleration of proliferation in the injured tissue would be some-what different according as they were derived from normal or necrotic tissue extract.
6) The nature of Proliferation Stimulating Substances in normal and necrotic tissue extracts were
found to be similar to. Trephonerel)~nd rStimulatuigF~ctois o>Prolifero

7) When tissue cells aze subjectedo necrosis 1prohferation invariably ensues
phenomenon could possibly be explained¢¥by,the -fact"that ;Proliferation Stimnlatmgtsubs ces se free`; from injured tissue cells may excite to activation those cells incapable of proliferation¢¥s
8) Proliferation Stimulating Substances briginating from injured tissue .cells arcons idered of` primary importance in the mechanism of repair process following inflammation.
